A Great Artist Великий художник

A starving artist was complaining to his landlord. "Twenty years from now people will come by here just to look at this house and say, Joe the famous artist once lived here.'"

The landlord was not impressed. "Listen, son, if you don't pay your rent they'll be saying that day after tomorrow."

 

Голодающий художник жаловался владельцу дома, у которого он снимал квартиру. "Через 20 лет люди будут приходить сюда просто посмотреть на этот дом и будут говорить, что знаменитый художник Джо когда-то здесь жил."

Эти слова не произвели никакого впечатления на владельца дома. "Слушай, сынок, если ты не заплатишь за квартиру, они будут говорить это (уже) послезавтра."
